Funny story time...

The other day we were at Kohl's and Hadley decided to do what babies do and poop her diaper at an inconvenient time. We were at the back of the store, so Abi was just going to lay her in the stroller and change her quick. We figured that would be easy enough. The stroller we have lays down flat, so it works well for that (love Chicco). Abi got the diaper off and was cleaning Hadley up when she decided she wasn't done pooping. This created a mess in the stroller, but fortunately it cleans easily.
So I started wiping the stroller up as Abi got Hadley all cleaned up and a new diaper put on. Once I had the stroller all cleaned I realized I now had a hand full of dirty wipes, and a poopy diaper...and not a trash can in sight. We were in the aisle with the ottomans, and I thought about just stashing it in there, but decided that was probably not the best option. So I took the stroller, and,  holding my hand full of "prized goods" somewhat hidden, walked all the way to the front of the store. Fortunately I have a good sense of humor, so as I was walking through a department store with a hand full of poopy nastiness I was laughing the whole time.

Photo Shoot

We decided to take some posed pictures of Hadley the other day. Because it's so much cheaper to do it at home (like free), we went that route. :-) Here are some of the results:

Hadley Ann

I feel like for this first post I should start out by just introducing myself and my little girl to the big blog world. My name is Joe, and I am the very proud new daddy of a beautiful baby girl, Hadley Ann, who was born to my wife, Abi, and I on November 1, 2011. She weighed 7lbs 4oz and was 20" tall. When she was born she had no jaundice, but a couple of days later it showed up and when she had blood work done, her bili levels came back at 19.8, which, from what I'm told, is very high. She was on a bilibed for 2 days, and had blood work done each day. The first day the level was 14.4, and the second was 10.6. It had to be below 12 for her to come off, so we were very grateful for that second number. That pretty much catches you up to speed on the first 11 days of her life. We are now trying to adjust to living life with a baby. So, as we learn, make mistakes, have funny things happen, etc, I hope you'll tag along and enjoy the ride.
